Pastor's
Heart
The
heart of a matter is defined as the
“center”
or
“core”.
What is my heart? What is at the center of my thoughts, passions and intents?
It’s spending myself on God and others. Jesus said it another way. He said the
greatest two commandments are to the love the Lord your God with all of your
heart, all of your mind, and all of your strength, and to love your neighbor as
much as you love yourself.
One of my Bible college
professors once said it was his opinion that atheists do not exist. What was his
reasoning for such a conclusion? Every time civilization discovers a new group
of people, they are worshiping some form of a god or deity. God has built into
the heart of humanity the desire and need to know and worship Him. The way we
worship God in Spirit and truth is through having a personal relationship with
Jesus Christ. And as in any quality relationship, there is going to be
continued fellowship and increasing depth and commitment.
Relationships make life bearable. They give us roots and
fruit – roots that help us feel sure when everything is going wrong and fruit to
celebrate when everything is going right. As a pastor, I see developing and
maintaining relationships as essential to our Christian and personal
development. They are “the iron that sharpens iron” in our lives.
What is my greatest passion and desire as pastor of
Complete In Christ Church? To see God raise up a church community where all
individuals and families of the Searcy area feel welcomed and can grow and
flourish in their walk of faith and discover God's plan for their lives.
