Pastor's Bio
Looking back, Barak Stafford clearly sees the guiding hand of God bringing him
first to Searcy, and more recently to pastor Complete In Christ Church.
But in his younger days he never
entertained the thoughts of being a preacher. In fact, his ambition in life was
to be a fireman. He became a volunteer fireman at only fourteen years old. He
studied criminal justice in college, preparing to enter the emergency field. One
day, a simple training exercise changed all of that. It should have been a quick
reentry into a burning building. Yet, while trying to exit, the burning roof
collapsed on Barak and one of his fellow firemen. Through a miraculous escape,
Barak began to take careful study of his life. He began to draw close to the
Lord like never before.
At nineteen
years old, God revealed to Barak his call and destiny as a minister of the
Gospel.
After this encounter, God would send different ministers to
speak into Barak’s life and confirm this purpose for his life. Yet, two years
later, fear and doubt began to assail Barak’s mind. Because of panic and
anxiety, which wasn’t as understood and publicized ten years ago, He began to
question whether he would be able to fulfill what God called him to do.
Every waking moment of the day was filled with immersing himself in God’s word.
When fear and panic would come, he would retaliate with the scripture he was
hiding in his heart. After a two year battle, victory was finally his. His
testimony became the catalyst for his faith-filled preaching ministry.
